Will my text still be selectable? +
Yes. This shrinks the images inside the PDF and leaves text, fonts and vector art untouched. Tools that rasterise every page get smaller files but turn your document into a picture. This one doesn't.
Why did nothing happen to my file? +
Almost certainly because it holds no photos. A text-only PDF is already close to as small as it gets, and we'd rather tell you that than hand back a file that's secretly identical.
Which setting should I pick? +
Balanced, unless you have a reason. Smallest file is for getting under an email limit and softens photos noticeably. Keep quality re-encodes without shrinking dimensions at all.
Are my files uploaded anywhere? +
No. Everything runs in your browser. Check your network tab and you'll see nothing leaves the page.
Can it compress scanned documents? +
Yes, and that's where it helps most. Scans are usually one big photo per page, which is exactly what this re-encodes.
